Edgewater is developing a series of circuit cards, chipsets and software that practically and economically address the requirements of high-bandwidth computer networking in aircraft and similarly critical applications.

The company is the developer of Extended 1553, which is a backward-compatible upgrade to the venerable Mil-Std-1553 databus that is predominately used for wired data communications within military and also civilian aircraft.

Edgewater worked in conjunction with the U.S. Air Force and did the necessary modeling, simulation, analysis, and physical verification of the Extended 1553 to insure its integrity and ability to enable aircraft to meet the demands of new capabilities that require high-bandwidth databus networking.
